As a school, we use Facebook to share our exciting learning through social media to our families and wider followers but we do also have a school Twitter X account that we use to engage with other education accounts. This week Falcons have been interacting with author Lindsay Galvin, the author of Darwin’s Dragons, sharing their learning with her and their excitement about the upcoming Wells Festival of Literature visit. 🗣️📝📚 #learningtogether
We love Falcons' unique and reflective artwork representing their class and the school as a whole. The children have been inspired by one of their class artists, Torres Garcia. It has been lovely to hear about what the children feel are the strengths and important aspects/characteristics of our wonderful school.
Thank you, Falcons 🙏
It was a really exciting day as we welcomed our new Reception Robins as part of our transition to St Aldhelm’s. The weather was glorious and we enjoyed lots of play in the sunshine as well as creative fun inside. Parents and Carers were able to meet and chat too. Some children didn’t want to go home but are really looking forward to coming back to play next week! #learningtogether
An exciting new beginning, this week we welcomed our new Reception Parents for our first event of our transition to St Aldhelm’s. We can’t wait to welcome children and parents on Thursday to come and play too. 🤩
This week in worship, we have been exploring the Christian Value, perseverance. We have looked at inspiring people including Rob Burrow, Emma Raducanu and Max Woosey and considered how we can be changemakers like them. Maybe a dinner table or long car journey discussion this week to share who inspires you to keep going and make the world a better place! #learningtogether #LifeInALLItsFullness #RobBurrow The Boy In The Tent #changemakers
Falcons have been researching, designing and creating masks inspired by those from Maya culture. They applied their knowledge of the Maya and other civilisations to design either death, celebration or warrior masks to wear into battle. They had a range of materials to select from and are using these to build up the layers. We can't wait to see the final masks.
Robins have been learning all about Africa and created some fantastic writing to apply their phonics skills. 🐘🦒✏️🤩
This week Owls have been learning about pollination in science with some amazing hands on learning to help the learning to stick! They made bees and used their knowledge to show the process using these and “pollen” (cheese powder). The children then drew the process into their own comic strip. Well done Owls 🐝
Selena from Somerset Libraries visited to tell us all about this year’s reading challenge called Marvellous Makers. It seems our Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust bear, John, wants to take part too! Visit Somerset Libraries Shepton Mallet from 6th July to get started. 📚 🤩 #LifeInALLItsFullness
